Paved Paradise: L’Art Village” exhibit at the Luminato Festival

Toronto, June 2 – June 10, 2007

Visit this exhibition of videos and installations in five shipping containers as well as an outdoor projection of photographs at night as part of Toronto’s Luminato Festival. The exhibit is located at the Parliament St Slip where the L’Art Boat sails from.

It was curated by former Art Gallery of Ontario curator, Clara Hargittay, and includes work by Vera Frenkel; Cecilia Berkovic; Sharon Switzer; Janis Demkiw, Emily Hogg, and Olia Mishchenko; Kevin Krivel and David Warne; Gyula Kalko. Clara was the key initiator and organizer behind the “Hungary Reborn” arts festival in Toronto in the early 90’s and has been an independent curator and arts organizer since.
