An international conference entitled entitled “Gender and Modernity in Central Europe: The Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and its Legacy” is taking place at the University of Ottawa, May 16-18th, 2008. There are some very good speakers from around the world including 5 from Hungary. A broad range of topics will be discussed from early psychoanalysis to modernity in the arts, minorities and interpreting the history of empire.
