The Hungarian Helicon Society is sponsoring a lecture entitled “Liszt and His Pupils” by internationally acclaimed Liszt specialist, Dr Alan Walker, Professor Emeritus of McMaster University at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto, 14 Elm St, Toronto on May 7th 2008 at 7 pm. Franz Liszt was not only a virtuoso pianist and composer but a charismatic piano teacher. Professor Walker will talk about some of the many students and Liszt’s influence on piano playing and teaching. Professor Walker recent prize-winning three volume biography of Liszt published by Alfred Knopf, has won great acclaim and the Pro cultura hungarica medal from the State of Hungary.
